字源自撰記憶法
框 · Frame
[fact stated],因此 [consequence]
觸 · Trigger
A fact is already on the table; you point back to it and state the result it caused.
序 · The move
1State the cause as a finished fact in its own clause. Is the cause complete before 因此, so 因此 can point back to it?
2Open the next clause with 因此, then give the consequence.Does 因此 lead a result, not a reason?
3Leave the cause clause un-marked.Did you avoid adding 因為 in front — 因此 already carries 'for this reason'?
例 · Examples
1這家麵店參加牛肉麵比賽得了第一名,因此therefore (for this reason)吸引to attract, draw in了更多顧客customer
This noodle shop entered the beef-noodle contest and took first place, and therefore drew in more customers.
界 · Boundary
因為…所以…
因為…所以… brackets the cause clause and the effect clause with a marker on each side. 因此 marks only the result clause and leaves the cause clause bare, leaning on a fact already finished.
所以
所以 leads the result clause after a 因為 cause and runs more conversational. 因此 also leads the result clause but stands without 因為, runs more written, and points back at the stated fact.
因為下雨,因此我沒去。 → 因為下雨,所以我沒去。 (因此 does not pair after 因為; use 所以, or drop 因為 and let 因此 carry it)
因此下雨,我沒去。 → 下雨了,因此我沒去。 (因此 leads the result, not the cause)
English 'therefore' can sit mid-sentence after a comma with no prior cause spelled out; 因此 needs the cause stated as its own clause first.
