Doubling a measure word makes the claim total and exhaustive: 朵朵 = every single flower. Doubling a verb makes the action light and brief: 看看 = have a quick look. Reduplication sweeps everything when it lands on a counter, but lightens when it lands on a verb.
量詞重疊 counts the whole set evenly, each one alike (朵朵都 = all of them equally). 連…都… picks out one extreme case and says even that one holds (連這朵都 = even this one). Flat sweep across all against the hardest single case.
keeping a number in front: 三朵朵 → 朵朵 (the doubled counter takes no number; for a count use 三朵)
doubling a two-syllable noun instead of the counter: 玫瑰玫瑰 → 朵朵 (double the measure word, not the noun)
dropping 都: 朵朵開得很好 → 朵朵都開得很好 (let 都 gather them up)
English says 'every / each' with a separate word before the noun, so learners reach for 每 and stop; Chinese can instead double the counter itself (朵朵, 個個) to carry 'every single one', with 都 picking up the sweep.
