字源 FORM what the parts do

相 sets an eye (目) on a tree (木), and read xiāng the looking runs both ways. 對 is a hand (寸) raising a notched tablet (丵) at court, answering point for point — what fits the question is 對, matched. 地 is the adverb-marker on loan, read light, turning the pair into an opener for the clause it leads. Together: two sides looked at side by side, the second answering the first in matched measure.

故事 STORY a scene to remember it by

One side of a scale rises; the other side, answering, rises by just as much.
字源記憶法
框 · Frame
[clause: A changes], 相對地 [clause: B changes in matched measure].
觸 · Trigger
One thing has shifted, and you want the next clause to land as its proportional answer, not a separate fact.
序 · The move
1State the driving change in the first clause (A grew, A rose). Is there a real change for the second to answer?
2Open the second clause with 相對地.Does the second clause move in step with the first, not against it?
3Let the second clause name the matched change.Could you swap the two clauses and keep the sense? If yes, the proportion isn't there — reconsider.
例 · Examples
1公司的規模scale, size越來越more and more大,相對地correspondingly需要的空間space也變大了。
The company's scale keeps growing; correspondingly, the space it needs has grown bigger too.
界 · Boundary
越…越…
越…越… ties the proportion inside one clause (the more A, the more B). 相對地 opens a second clause and marks it as the matched answer to a change already stated.
反而
相對地 moves the same direction as the first clause — both rise or both fall. 反而 turns against the expected direction (you'd expect more, yet less).
✗ 規模變大,相對地空間變小了。 → ✓ 規模變大,相對地空間也變大了。 (the second clause must move in step, not against)
✗ 相對地公司的規模越來越大。 → ✓ 公司的規模越來越大,相對地需要的空間也變大了。 (相對地 leads the answering clause, not the opening one)
✗ 他很高,相對地他很聰明。 → ✓ 他練得越多,相對地進步也越快。 (the two clauses must be a matched proportion, not two loose traits)
English 'relatively' tempts a comparison reading (relatively large). Here 相對地 is a conjunct meaning 'correspondingly / in proportion' — it links two moving quantities, not a degree on one adjective.
