一…就… 了…就… needs the first action genuinely finished; 一…就… fires on the trigger itself with no completion required. 吃了就走 (after eating) vs 一吃就走 (the instant eating starts).
如果…就… 了…就… reports a real sequence that happened; 如果…就… sets a hypothetical condition. 了 stamps a done deed; 如果 stays unfulfilled.
了 on the second verb: 我吃早飯就去了上課 → 我吃了早飯就去上課
就 after verb B: 我吃了早飯去就上課 → 我吃了早飯就去上課
missing 了 on action A: 我吃早飯就去上課 → 我吃了早飯就去上課
English 'after I ate' puts the marker up front; learners reach for a leading word and drop the 了 that closes the first action.
