字源記憶法
框 · Frame
根據 [source],[claim grounded in it]
觸 · Trigger
You want to state something and name the source it rests on, so the claim arrives already grounded.
序 · The move
1Put 根據 at the head, before the source you are citing. Is what follows 根據 a source/basis (a report, rule, data), not the claim itself?
2Name the source, then close it with 「,」.Could the listener point to this source as where the claim comes from?
3State the grounded claim after the comma.Does the claim follow from the source rather than restate it?
例 · Examples
1根據on the basis of / according to氣象報告weather report (the cited source),明天下午will (prediction)下雨to rain
According to the weather report, it will rain tomorrow afternoon.
界 · Boundary
按照
根據 takes facts/evidence you reason from (根據資料判斷 — conclude from the data); 按照 takes a rule/plan you carry out to match it (按照規定辦 — do it the way the rules say). Base-on vs conform-to.
因為…所以…
根據 cites the SOURCE a claim rests on (where it comes from); 因為 gives the CAUSE that makes something happen. A report grounds a prediction (根據); rain causes a cancellation (因為).
對於
根據 names what the statement is BASED ON; 對於 names what the statement is ABOUT. Same head position, different relation to the claim.
✗ 根據明天會下雨 → ✓ 根據氣象報告,明天會下雨 (根據 takes a source, not the claim itself)
✗ 因為氣象報告,明天會下雨 → ✓ 根據氣象報告,明天會下雨 (the report is the basis cited, not the cause of the rain)
✗ 明天會下雨根據氣象報告 → ✓ 根據氣象報告,明天會下雨 (根據 + source leads; the claim follows)
English 'according to' can trail at the end ('it'll rain, according to the report'); 根據 + source must lead the sentence.
