A hanging cloth (巾) with 長 cháng for the sound, ch- shifting forward to zh-, the tone falling. A long cloth hung all around is the curtain, the tent's canopy. The reckoning kept under that canopy becomes the account, the ledger: 帳篷、帳簿.
