noun — a palace; a temple hall

字源 FORM — what the parts do

a roof — a great building
two rooms, one above the other
A roof (宀) over rooms stacked room-on-room (呂) — a building of many chambers, the palace. The 呂 inside is two mouths of space linked, one opening into the next. The old graph carries two tellings of that 呂: the picture above, paired rooms; or, per 說文, 躳省聲 — the inner piece doing double duty as the sound as well.

故事 STORY — a scene to remember it by

一個屋頂()下,房間一間接一間(),走不到頭。
One roof (宀), and under it room after room (呂) with no end in sight.
